Features of Slip Rings for Fire-fighting Robots

Among robots for different purpose, fire-fighting robots are very eye-catching products in today’s market. Fire-fighting robots can replace fire-fighters to put out fire under extreme circumstances, they are one of the most popular civil used robots. And on these fire-fighting robots, some request slip rings. JINPAT Electronics, as a pioneer in slip ring manufacturing industry, has developed slip rings and rotary joints for various purposes. In terms of function, we can treat fire-fighting robots are mini-size fire engine. That is to say some slip rings for fire-fighting robots are simplified version of those for fire engine. JINPAT slip rings for fire engines are mostly pillar slip rings with big through bore diameter that exceed 100mm. Given the similar structure, they belong to the JINPAT through bore slip ring series.

 

The large through bore design in to facilitate passing of big water pipe. Such design is also applicable for large size fire-fighting robots. And JINPAT slip rings for fire engines are integrated slip rings that can transmit power and various signals. Take LPT120-0630-16S-E2 for example, there are 4 40A power channels, one 100M Ethernet signals and other 16 signals that integrate throttle signal, control signal, angle signal and CAN signal, etc. But for small size fire-fighting robots, some adjustments need to be made like with smaller through bore diameter, and less signal channels. A brand new design is needed for special type small size fire-fighting robots. Without fire extinguish equipment like on those fire engines, these fire-fighting robots only carry water pipes.

 

To keep a real time detection of the fire scene, these fire robots are equipped with a 360-degree camera globe. An electro-optical slip rings that integrate SDI high definition video signal is demanded to support such device. This slip ring model is highly adaptable and very mature in technology. For application on fire-fighting robots, only an upgrading of the protection grading is needed to enable JINPAT LPC-1C SDI slip ring to work in the device. This model is a capsule type slip ring with super compact size and light weight. The mini HD slip ring can allow a real-time video signal transmission.
